MARINA MEETS THE DEMAND FOR DRY STORAGE

January 1, 2000

With the continuing growth of boating in northern Florida, local marinas have seen the demand for dry storage grow as well. Ron Foster, Sr., of the Stella Group, recognized this need and has contracted with Bellingham Marine to construct a large drystack facility at the group’s Palm Harbor Marina.

Located at 14503 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida, the building consists of two main aisles with racks on both sides of either. Its 486 racks handle boats up to 35′, and exterior additions are available for mixed-use retail office space and marine-related repair shops. As with all Bellingham projects, the structure will incorporate features determined by the area’s prevailing climate and weather conditions.

Before Foster purchased the marina, it was known as Jacksonville Yacht Basin. The grand opening of the new Palm Harbor Marina drystack storage facility is scheduled for spring of 2000.

Bellingham Marine designs, manufactures and installs Unifloat® floating dock systems, Unideck® fresh water systems and Unistack® dry storage buildings for marinas and boat service facilities worldwide.
